UNBOXING: Giveaway Prize (Book Depository)

Hello Bibliophiles!!!

It’s time for me to share to you the giveaway prize I’ve been dying to receive for the past eight months. Yes read that right, it took eight months before these packages arrived in my door steps.

So last February, I won a giveaway hosted by @aus.fangirl.reads. She’s giving away a $30 AUD worth of books from Book Depository. I didn’t know what I should get but later that day, I finally decided on which book/books I’ll be getting.

As everyone have told me, it would take only one month and a half before the books would arrive from United Kingdom to the Philippines. When the one month mark passed, I didn’t worry that much. I waited for another month, and still nothing arrived. No notice from the post office. I didn’t worry that much as well because I know how crappy and awful our postal system is.

After four months of waiting, I decided to inform the host about it and she was so kind enough to email Book Depository and I was glad BookDepo decided to send me replacement for the books. It took just around three months or so for the books arrive. It actually arrived around September 29th here in my country but it arrived at my city’s post office by October 2nd. And I got it the following two days.

I was excited when my sister woke me up and gave me two packages that has a Book Depository logo on it! Out of excitement I opened it right away! Who wouldn’t right? I’ve been waiting for them to arrive that long!

I was so happy to finally get physical copies of these books! First books is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I got the UK Paperback to match with my Throne of Glass books.

Second book is, of course the sequel, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.

And I was so happy to get my very first Book Depository bookmarks! I love them so much! Aside from excitement over the books these bookmarks were also the reason why I was so excited to open the packages. I was wishing to get multiple bookmarks with each book like others are getting. But who am I to complain? I got two new bookmarks to my growing collection of bookmarks!

I can’t wait to reread this books and to hopefully get my copy of ACOWAR soon (which I also won from a giveaway) I still hope it would arrive later this year.

Anyway that ends my short unboxing/unpacking the books I won from a giveaway. Expect to see more unboxing or unpacking or book mail in the near future! For the mean time, enjoy reading!

UNBOXING: The Crowns of Croswald

This is an over due unboxing. Please bare with me. I’ve been very busy with school and never got the time to write any blog post. Now that half of my school work are done, I can now focus on my blog and my bookstagram and of course, get back to reading more books!

Hello Bibliophiles!!!

This is an over due unboxing. Please bare with me. I’ve been very busy with school and never got the time to write any blog post. Now that half of my school work are done, I Processed with VSCO with m3 presetcan now focus on my blog and my bookstagram and of course, get back to reading more books!

Just last September, I received a gorgeous box from a publishing house (JKS Communication). The box is so gorgeous that I badly want to take out the huge sticker on top. I was glad it got removed and didn’t damage the gorgeous box in any way. Most of you might have already seen umboxings of this box but I can’t help but share it to you guys.

So upon opening the box, the first thing that I saw was this gorgeous art print and a note which says “This magical box was personally created and boxed just for you by D.E. Night”. I feel so special with it (even though all of the reviewers who received this box got the same not.) Nonetheless, I still feel extra special.

The next I saw was these cute newspaper. At first thought it was just an ordinary newspaper to conceal what’s inside the box. But when I look at it closely I noticed that this newspaper has something to do with the book. Isn’t that a great way to make things inside the box coherent?

Once you open the newspaper up, the first thing I saw was this cute bottle wrapped in bubble wrap. I’ve seen a lot of people open this box already but I was still at awe when I saw it with my very own eyes, much more when I held it. At first I honestly didn’t know how to make it light up because it lights up, you guys! So when I looked inside the box, I saw this small note about how to make the Glanagerie bottle light up. It tells you how to make it light up and all. Reading it confused the heck of me. I still didn’t know how to make the bottle light up. So I tried turning the cap until it’s loose and a white paper fell out. And that paper was what the note was talking about. Stupid right?

I then saw a paper that tells us about the book inside the box and an author question and answer. Also, the facts about the book and when it was going to be released. Then the next thing I saw was the note about the origin of the Glanagerie bottle.

After that, I saw another note but this time, it’s the author’s letter to the readers, to us!

And finally the book! The cover is just so beautiful! I can’t stop staring at it when I first laid eyes on it. And did I mention, I was in school when I first opened and saw it? It was awkward knowing that there are students inside the classroom already; and they were witnessing me just starring at a book they don’t know about. But I can’t help it! THE COVER IS TOO GORGEOUS NOT TO STARE AT IT! JUST LOOK AT THAT! Just look at the details!

The book is THE CROWNS OF CROSWALD by D.E. Night.

In Croswald, the only thing more powerful than dark magic is one secret…

For sixteen years Ivy Lovely has been hidden behind an enchanted boundary that separates the mundane from the magical. When Ivy crosses the border, her powers awaken. Curiosity leads her crashing through a series of adventures at the Halls of Ivy, a school where students learn to master their magical blood and the power of Croswald’s mysterious gems. When Ivy’s magic––and her life––is threatened by the Dark Queen, she scrambles to unearth her history and save Croswald before the truth is swept away forever.

A HUGE THANK YOU to JKS Communications for sending this box my way! I certainly cannot wait to read this book, I have it on my October TBR pile, so it would be soon!

I hope you enjoyed that unboxing of mine. I’ll have more unboxing in the near future!

Thank you and have a great day!

Hello bibliophiles!!!

Last month, I got a very last minute package from an author that I’ve been dying to receive. Being a huge fan of a world wide boy band, I just have to review this book and read it for myself.

I was glad that I didn’t have to go to the post office to get this specific package. I was also glad that I didn’t pay for the storage tax. That was a relief and totally a save of my money!

I post an unboxing of this package on my Bookstagram stories. Some of my followers have seen it already.

Before I show you the books, lemme say a few things to the author. Thank you so much for sending a copy or copies of your book my way. You know how much I wanted to review these books. And I am glad that finally I got get to them and savor my love for boy bands! Thank you so much!

Without further adieu, here are books:

  • Boy Band
  • Backstage
Processed with VSCO with m3 preset
Boy Band and Backstage by Jacqueline E. Smith. They look so pretty together!

These book are so gorgeous and I love that Backstage is dedicated to a member of my favorite boy band in the world, One Direction. As much as they no longer function as one band, I still love them nonetheless.

Here is a synopsis of Boy Band to spite your curiosity with these books.

Sam Morneau is Melissa Parker’s best friend. He’s also a member of The Kind of September, basically the hottest boy band on the planet.

After two and a half years, Mel is all too familiar with the day-to-day occurrences that come with being a member of the band’s inner circle, including hectic schedules, passionate fans, and gossip-mongering celebrity girlfriends.

Now, with the release of the group’s third album just weeks away, their lives have never been crazier and Mel is doing everything she can to keep up, all the while trying to cope with the ridiculous rumors that follow the band everywhere they go and pretending that she isn’t harboring a secret and hopeless crush on Sam.

It’s weird enough being in love with your best friend. It’s even weirder when the rest of the world is in love with him, too.

BOOK MAIL: Another Packages Filled with Goodies

Two additional packages arrive a few days later. Each package contains a book. But the other one contained so much more.

Let’s start with the package with just the book in it.

I requested a review copy for author J.M. Robson regarding her book entitled Three Little Words.

I requested it at the end of May and it arrived two weeks later. That’s a first. Usually the packages would take months before it would arrive. But I guess the change of personnel in charge made things a little faster.

So about that book, this book is about something thrilling and creepy. And this probably would be the first book I’ll be reading that is horror. There’s always a first time for everything, right?

The next packages is from Ms. Alane Adams. She sent me her new release books The Raven God together with a lot of goodies! There are like 5 goodies in it.

  • An art print
  • Notepad

  • Bookmarks

  • Book Club Journal

  • 2 ball pens (one of which arrived broken!)

Then of course the gorgeous book, The Raven God.

Now that I have the third book, I can now binge read all three books!!! I’ll get to it next month, maybe.

That’s it folks. That’s all the packages I received for now.

Keep an eye open for more mails in the coming months!

Thank you and have a great day. Please do check out those books when you have the time.

BOOK MAIL: Review Copies from Authors

Hello bibliophiles, I’ll be sharing you the books I received last week from the authors. I got 2 packages, both filled with books!

First is a package from Alice Rachel. You might have heard of her a lot of times here on my blog. She has previously sent me her books and some precious goodies. This package contains more of her books.

    • Under Ground in it’s new cover!
    • Losing Ground in it’s new cover too!
    • Terrence: A Short Story a companion to the rest of the books.

I was so excited to receive these books because it has been a month since she sent it. And the wait was killing me. If you want to know more about the first two books, check out my review on Under Ground and Losing Ground.

Second package is from Evelyne Contant. She sent me her price possession book. Enchantment: Moonlight is the first book to the series.

I was dying to get this book ever since she accepted my request. I’m so excited to read it, soon.

Although I got this copies for free and in change for an honest review, I still had to pay for the storage fee. I paid ₱112 per package. It sucks but then again, it was all worth it. Paying a small price is nothing compared to having the amazing books.

Those are the books I received from the authors and I love them so much!

I have a part two for this, because just recently a packages was sent to me from the post office, without payment! So, stay tuned to that.

Thank you for reading and I hope it made you want to read those books. Until next time.

    Wanders Between Pagesss

    Hello there!

It’s been a while since I last posted a book mail. I have received book mails or other mails these past few weeks. I never got to blog about them because they were just local mails. Books I bought from an IG seller and some bullet journal materials. I have decided to only feature mails that are from authors or if by any chance some representative or giveaway prize mails.

And in line with all that, I am here to share to you a mail that I got last February 28. I would say it was the best way to end the month.

It’s a small looking package. You can right away identify that a book is inside it.

Processed with VSCO with m3 preset

It’s a signed personalized copy! Yey!

If you want to read the synopsis, the photo is below ⬇

I’d like to send a huge THANK YOU to author, KATIE LI, for sending this review copy across the world. I am beyond honored that you granted my request. As promised, I would be writing an honest review of your book as soon as I can. I’ll let you know through a DM on Instagram or email.

And I’d like to say THANK YOU for being a part of my journey as a reviewer.

I hope you enjoyed that little book mail. I wish I could an unboxing to this blog post but wordpress doesn’t allow it since I’m using it for free. Someday, I promise.

Thank you and have a great day. And may you never lose your bookmark while reading. Bye!

BOOK MAIL: Picked up two packages from PhilPost (Dec. 9, 2016)

Hello there bibliobears! (I’ll start calling my readers, IG followers and Twitter followers BiblioBears! I’ll explain that on my next blog post or bookstagram post)

    This time I got TWO!

Which one to open first? Hmmm…

Let’s open the one from Society6. This is my first time to get a mail/package from Society6. I already know what this is because Alice Rachel, author of Under Ground, have asked me to choose an art print from her Society6 shop.

It was a hard decision to make because all her designs were pretty but I picked the one of Chi and Thia. They are the main prottagonist in the book and I find the design really cute. And it’s drawn by Alice, herself. It’s amazing. She’s such an amazing author and an artist. Thank you for this Alice!!! You’re the best!

    Next up!

Let’s open this big package. This is from Alane Adams. By just feeling the package, I know it contains books.

The first one is The Red Sun. This is the first book in her Legends of Orkney series. I don’t know much about this book but I am excited to get into it soon.

The blurb on the cover says,

    “Percy Jackson meets Norse mythology…”

I haven’t read PJO but I know it’s an awesome book. So it would be cool to read something around that story.

The second book is Kalifus Rising. This is the second book.

I would love to binge read this two, since I have the two books already. Hopefully after I review this current book I am reading.

    But wait! There’s more!

Inside the package are some bookish merch related to the books. First are four art prints.

Then three The Red Sun bookmarks.

They look so pretty all together. I totally can’t wait to read the books!

Thank you to both authors for sending these amazing things. You are both amazing! Thank you!

And thank you for sparing a few seconds of your time to read this. Have a great day and may your bookmark never get lost.
